Spring is around the corner and so is trial season! March is the perfect time to be meeting with your vendors and perfecting the details for your wedding day. If you have a mid summer to late fall date this is your time to get better acquainted with who you've chosen to make your day one you'll never forget.
As far as makeup trials, spring is a perfect season to test out how your skin may fair come the next few months. As the months change so does our skin. This means as dry skin weather ends, our skin can change and become more oily or products we used to use will no longer do the job. Also, don't forget allergies will begin to flare as nature takes its course.
Having your makeup done beforehand ensures you have time to make sure there are no issues. If a product does not work with your skin or you have an irritation or product preference, we as makeup artists can hone in on the problem and switch up the product/application with time to spare before your ceremony.
When you walk down the aisle or when you have your first look, our goal is to make you feel and look like the best version of yourself. Having a trial and meeting with your artist puts your mind at ease while letting you visualize the final look. We take photos and detailed notes so there is no second guessing while you're in our chair.
Your bridal party's makeup is equally as important to discuss during the trial. During the appointment, we go over details, color schemes, and the overall vibe of your wedding. It is important to make each person in your party feel beautiful and comfortable while maintaining a uniform look that compliments your vision.
Being vocal about your needs and preferences keeps us as artists focused and on track to create a calm environment and a beautiful makeup masterpiece.

It‘s the most wonderful time of the year for engagements! It seems the most popular time to pop the big question is always around the holidays when you are gathering with family and friends.
Even though this year might seem a little different in the midst of a pandemic, love is going strong and overcoming obstacles. Together, you and your partner feel the overwhelming spirit of good cheer and one of you seizes the moment with a perfect proposal. If there wasn’t a reason to celebrate before, there definitely is now! BUT, don’t forget to pace yourselves with either breaking the news or having everyone plan your nuptials.
Spending time with family and friends can sometimes turn everything upside down after an engagement. Everyone who is already married throws their two cents in while all your friends are trying to get you to spill who’s in and who’s out of the bridal party.
Don’t feel pressured to have it all planned by the new year. In fact, try not to consume yourself with planning at all. As long as you have a realistic timeline and aren’t getting married within 6 months, you should just relax and enjoy the season.
Take this time to do fun and festive photos together in the snow. Go pick out a tree together and start new holiday traditions. Let your families become one and plan family outings whenever you can. Make your bonds stronger than ever during a time where we all have so much to be thankful for.
Love is for all seasons, but resonates more when you are in good company. Let the season bring peace and light into your relationship.

Finding the perfect vendor for your big day can be somewhat daunting if you don't know the appropriate steps towards the booking process. Here are a few tips from me to you about how you can get ahead of the others looking to book the exact same date:
When looking for your vendors, your initial search should be to find a business that coordinates with your theme, date of the wedding, budget, and location. Make sure their services and packages are reasonable while also being what you want on your wedding day. There are plenty of professionals out there who can get you the results you want, but you have to do your research! Also, be sure to check out their reviews on all websites and vendor platforms to support that they are reliable and consistent with their work.
Once you have narrowed down a few selections, it's time to yet again gather more information. This time, you need to focus on your personal preferences and party size. If you have a makeup artist or hair stylist, it is important to reach out with an accurate total of how many people will be requiring services and by communicating what time you need to be ready by. This means reaching out to your wedding party to confirm a final number and working with your venue to make sure your timeline is appropriate for the services you are looking for. Another example is for the DJ and photographer/videographer, you might want to re-confirm just how long your wedding day will be to calculate how many hours you will need them on-site. When you have locked down this information you can reach out to the vendors confidently knowing there will be less back-and-forth before getting to availability.
Reaching out should be a piece of cake now that you have your numbers and times communicated. Vendors depending on the season may take up to 48 hours to respond to your request. Be sure to allow ample time for all your vendor hopefuls to reply before making a decision. Jumping the gun and choosing the first vendor to respond may not be the right choice in the long run. In the event a vendor is already booked, DON'T PANIC! Never be afraid to ask the who they would recommend and get to know your other candidates while letting them know your dreams and visions. They will guide you along your engagement journey until you feel you have made the right choice. Go with your gut! Most vendors offer consultations as well so you can see and experience their work first hand. A consultation or trial can give you that extra boost to confirm you're making the right decision.
Now it's time! You found the one...well....we know you found the one, but I'm talking vendors here. You found the perfect vendor for the big day and you want to book them. At this point you should be talking contracts, logistics, and deposits/retainers. ALWAYS READ THE CONTRACT before you hand over any money. Make sure everything is looked over with a fine tooth comb and suits your needs while including all adjustments and conditions you and the vendor have previously discussed. Never be afraid to get a second opinion and never be afraid to seek legal advice. If your vendor values you and your business, they will be thorough and honest with their contract's intentions. With a contract signed, totals and retainer/deposits will be made at the discretion of you and the vendor. No two vendors are alike when it comes to the payment process so be sure to keep record of all your payments and ask for receipts when possible.
You can never be too prepared when hiring a professional or business to help your wedding day run like a well oiled machine. Communication is always key especially in the months and days leading up to the event. Be sure to communicate if anything changes that was previously discussed or agreed upon to avoid unnecessary mix ups.
As a fellow wedding vendor, we are here to make your day stress free and one to remember. If you come prepared, we will be able to work efficiently and prove that you made the right choice.
